A blessing to us
Steve's story
There is a range of bikes to suit many different needs, and the staff are all fantastic, they are such lovely people.
Steve suffered a serious stroke two years ago. When he left hospital after a total of nine months to continue his rehabilitation at home, the world was in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic. He and his wife Sue were keen to find activities that could aid his recovery, but few things were open.
In early 2021, they heard about Warmley Wheelers. Steve’s balance and coordination have been badly affected by his stroke, but he was able to ride some of our specially adapted bicycles. Steve loved having the chance to do an activity he could take part in independently, and he and Sue now visit Warmley Wheelers every week.
Sue says: “Steve absolutely loves it. It helps his coordination and spatial awareness, so it’s really contributed to his rehabilitation. You can see the progress he’s made by the fact that he’s now using a bike that he wouldn’t have been able to ride a year ago.
“There is a range of bikes to suit many different needs, and the staff are all fantastic, they are such lovely people. Warmley Wheelers has been a blessing to us, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.”
